The Ministry of Industry continues to support the growth of the domestic vehicle modification industry. The industry is considered capable of increasing creativity, innovation, and spurring the development of vehicle components sector businesses based on local resources, especially those of small and medium scale industries (IKM).

Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita acknowledged the use of 100% green diesel or D-100 fuel for vehicles can produce good engine performance and environmentally friendly. This was proven when testing an MPV type car that had consumed D-100 from Refined, Bleached and Deodorized Palm Oil (RBDPO) produced by PT Pertamina (Persero).

Industri komponen otomotif diyakini terus berkembang, ditandai dengan melonjaknya ekspor selama Januari-Juli tahun ini dan besarnya nilai investasi yang mencapai US$4 miliar. Data Gabungan Industri Kendaraan Bermotor Indonesia memperlihatkan ekspor komponen otomotif selama 7 bulan terakhir tahun ini naik 8,8% dari 29,5 juta bagian pada periode yang sama tahun lalu menjadi 32,1 juta bagian.

Perkembangan Industri Alat Transportasi Nasional diharapkan meningkat.  Meski sektor otomotif masih lambat pertumbuhannya, namun tahun ini diharapkan akan tetap tumbuh berkat geliat investasi di industri komponen.  Perkiraan optimistis itu diungkapkan Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal (BKPM), yang mengestimasi pertumbuhan investasi sektor otomotif hingga akhir tahun akan tetap tumbuh seiring dengan geliat subsektor komponen. 

Saat ini industri perkapalan nasional masih belum terlihat keindustriannnya, padahal Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara maritim terbesar di dunia.  Untuk itu Pemerintah yang kita kasih tanggung jawab untuk mengatur negara ini harus berperan serta sebgai AKTOR utama untuk membangun industri perkapalan yang semakin terhimpit dan tidak terurus ini. apa perlu kita demoooo.....(tidak kan) Industri perkapalan nasional sampai saat ini masih MISKIN dana dari perbankan, kemudian Pemerintah harus membuat kebijakan membangun industri perkapalan di dalam negeri, bukan hanya reparasi ataupun impor dengan cuap-cuap memajukan industri perkapalan, pemerintah juga haruus berlaku adil antara perdagangan dan industri di sektor industri galangan kapal. Pembebasan pajak pertambahan nilai (PPN) 10% bagi industri perkapalan di dalam negeri diyakini mendongkrak daya saing galangan sehingga mampu merebut proyek pengadaan kapal baru.  Pembebasan PPN tersebut sesuai dengan Instruksi Presiden No
