Car exports from Indonesia is likely to grow 15% in 2016

Car exports from Indonesia is likely to grow 15% in 2016 from 2015, breaking 220,000 units. "That estimate is also hope, we could not be sure berapanya, but there are many indicators that make potential increases," said Chairman of Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (GAIKINDO) Jongkie D Sugiarto.

From January to November 2015, car exports from Indonesia reached 196 875 units. It increased by 6.2% compared to the same period in 2014 (185 372 units).

GAIKINDO addition, the GOI (Ministry of Industry) is also optimistic about the increase in car exports. Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronic Engineers (ILMATE) Kemenperin I Gusti Putu Suryawirawan said export growth rate is sustained their investment in plant completion of several major manufacturers. It was mainly from Japanese manufacturers, such as Daihatsu, Honda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, and Toyota. They invest more than USD 200 million.

GAIKINDO data indicate a positive trend in export performance throughout 2015. Since 2012, export growth was in the range of 5%. In 2012, automobile exports reached 173 371 units, in 2013 as many as 170 907 units in 2014 reached 202 273 units. (*)
