Car D-100, Smooth Engine Sound
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita acknowledged the use of 100% green diesel or D-100 fuel for vehicles can produce good engine performance and environmentally friendly. This was proven when testing an MPV type car that had consumed D-100 from Refined, Bleached and Deodorized Palm Oil (RBDPO) produced by PT Pertamina (Persero).

RBDPO is palm oil or CPO which has been further processed so that the sap, impurities and odor are lost. PT Pertamina is able to produce 100 percent RBDPO products reaching 1,000 barrels per day at the existing Dumai Refinery facility.
The government gives full appreciation and support for the successful development of the green diesel fuel product. This is in line with President Joko Widodo's direction to oversee the implementation of the biofuel (BBN) program in order to optimize abundant natural resources in Indonesia, especially oil palm, so that it will improve the welfare of farmers.

The Minister of Industry also appreciated the research team of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Soebagjo, who has worked hard with the Pertamina team by engineering palm oil co-processing, which has made Indonesia one of the world's reference technology for biofuel production. "This success realizes stand alone green diesel production technology, with Red and White Catalysts made in Indonesia," he said.
According to Agus, the innovation is the right moment to convey the message that Indonesia will be independent in supplying national energy amid the rampant negative campaign against Indonesian palm oil by the European Union and other importing countries. "Indonesia will reduce fuel imports and replace them with green fuels that are environmentally friendly and sustainable," he said.
In addition, the mastery of a catalyst production technology license in the country will make Indonesia a catalyst production base and reduce import dependence. "We strongly support the plan to build a large-scale or commercial catalyst plant. Moreover, almost all chemical production requires catalysts as the heart of the production process, so that the domestic catalyst market is very potential, "he said.
In line with these efforts, the Ministry of Industry will be ready to provide support in the form of ease of industrial licensing, preparation of the SNI Catalyst design, to facilitation of tax incentives such as tax holidays, tax allowance, and super deduction tax. "So far, we have actively participated in the formulation of policies and development of green fuel production technology, including green diesel," he explained.
